Decorating for the Holidays

Decorating for the Holidays

We hope that everyone had a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend filled with food, friends, and family. This time of year we don’t have much to time to stop and recover from one holiday before the next is upon us. And although Christmastime seems to get earlier and earlier every year on the retail marketing side, now that Thanksgiving is in our rearview mirror, it is acceptable to jump into the holiday spirit.

For us, this starts with dusting off the decorations and rearranging for all of the festivities to come. But we get bored with the same old things every year, so we try and mix it up each season. And sometimes we need a little inspiration to get us going. So, this week we scoured the internet to find some fresh new ideas before we start our holiday overhaul. We hope you find them as fun and cheerful as we did!

The Entryway

Nothing makes a statement like a well-designed entryway. We love how this is elegant with pops of red and gold. Although the décor is big in size it doesn’t go overboard with lights and tinsel. This is also a relatively simple look to achieve. Magnolias, pinecones, and poinsettias can really set the tone for holiday cheer.

A Festive Centerpiece

Since we will be spending so much time gathered around the table in the coming weeks, we love to spice up our décor with a great centerpiece. A cake stand, a wreath, and a garland of cranberries are an easy way to show off your creativity. Add some candles for cozy ambiance.

Small Details

We don’t like to go overboard with holiday decorations, but we do like to add a little something to all the rooms in the house. These quaint little Christmas wreaths with a simple decorative ribbon are an easy way to add some joy to a kitchen that will be bustling with activity.

The Tree

We can’t forget about one of the main decorative features of the holidays: THE TREE! This is where the creativity can really get flowing. And we love a great themed Christmas tree. Ribbons, marquis lights, burlap, even feathers can be used to make your tree shine with personality. From bright, to vintage, to glittery, you choose which directions to go.

This time of year can get hectic but remember to focus on what is important to you. For us, a great way to kick off the season is to decorate. Try getting the whole family involved. Maybe a DIY decoration party will ignite some creativity. No matter how you get in the spirit, just have fun with it!
