Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks
Let’s be honest, who really likes cleaning? I know there are a few of you out there, and more power to you, but I can think of a lot of other things that I would like to do that don’t involve dust and grime. But there is nothing like coming home to a sparkling house that smells good. I dream of walking through the door, everything is in its place, and the floors and counters and shiny and clean.
Of course, the reality doesn’t look quite as tidy as this, but I have found that there are actually a few tips and tricks that even get me a little excited about cleaning (even if just for a second). This time of year is the perfect opportunity to tackle house projects and this often starts with a good cleaning. If you are like me and need that extra boost of motivation, hopefully these ideas will get you going.
What I love about this idea is that you only need a spray bottle and three ingredients. Over time our furniture, upholstery, and linens start to lose a little of their luster and may even have a less than fresh odor. This is just the trick to freshen up the space without any harsh chemicals or expensive cleaning products.
Part of the reason I dislike cleaning so much is the harsh chemicals of the cleaning supplies that take a toll on my skin and give me headaches. Luckily, almost all of us already have a powerful tool in our cupboard that can take care of some really hard to clean messes – baking soda. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.
Most of the time it isn’t a matter of built up dirt and grime that makes my house a mess, it is the simple cluttering of stuff. Stuff. Everywhere. In my head I can picture how it should look perfectly organized, but it just doesn’t magically happen unfortunately.
