4th of July Inspiration
4th of July Inspiration
The July 4th summer holiday can mean so many things – independence, gratitude, celebration, fireworks…and sales! If you have been in the market for new furniture or home décor, now might be the perfect time to take the plunge on those purchases. With summer in full swing, retailers are eager to get you into their stores, and sometimes this means a dramatic drop in prices. But we know this can sometimes be overwhelming, and you may feel pressure to buy something before the price shoots back up.
Before racking up credit card charges or draining your bank account, it might be a good idea to have a plan of action and a focus before you hit the stores. Evaluate what your needs are and weigh them against your wants. Maybe renegade shopping is your style, but if not, here are a few ideas to get the gears turning.
Kitchen Accessories
Is your kitchen an unorganized mess? Whether you like to cook or not, most families end up spending a lot of time in their kitchen. It is a communal place that serves a very important function, sustenance. But it can be incredibly frustrating when this space has an uneven flow to it. Chairs that don’t fit right under the counter, cabinets that are overflowing, food items too far across the room. If you experience any of these issues, it may be time for an upgrade. Consider a kitchen island for storage and additional counter space, or new seating that better fits the space. If you have open wall space, get creative and explore options for hanging pots and utensils.
Bedroom Upgrade
Sometimes our bedrooms are the last part of the house that gets our attention. It is easy to close the door and forget about this area, but this can be a big mistake. Studies have shown that sleep is an important factor when it comes to our well-being, therefore pay close attention to your sleep patterns and make sure that you design with optimal comfort and relaxation in mind. This may mean you purchase a new mattress, or a better fitting frame. Perhaps you will achieve better peace of mind if you have additional storage and a matching bedroom set.
Dining In
Our lives get hectic and busy, and sometimes the best thing you can do to ground yourself is to sit down for an old fashioned family dinner. Are your dining room table and chairs outdated? Now might be a great time to change the look and feel of your dining room. Maybe you have a big family and want a long table with lots of seating, or maybe you prefer a cottage style intimate feel. There are lots of modern designs available and don’t be afraid to mix and match the seating.
Couch Surfing
It is no secret that our couches experience some heavy wear and tear over the years. If you are getting to the point that flipping the cushions is no longer an option, it may be time to spurge on a new one. Think about what size will fit your living area best. Do you want an oversized extra cushiony couch, or do you picture a sleek and modern design. It is important to consider both function and style.
Backyard barbeques and community events are what make the 4th of July such a great holiday, but if you have been itching to spruce up your home, don’t miss out on some amazing deals on furniture for any room in your house.
