Holiday Gift Guide

As you know, we are in full holiday swing.  Trees are up, lights are strung, and the hustle and bustle of searching for those perfect gifts is well underway.  You can feel the excitement in the crisp cool air.

If you are still trying to come up with gift ideas for your friends and loved ones, there is good news and bad news.  We will start with the bad…you don’t have much time left.  But the good news is that we are here to help.

We all have those individuals on our list that are just difficult to shop for.  They either have everything they need or are extremely picky.  Not everyone loves furniture and home décor, but we think we have some ideas that could work for just about anyone.

Art

This is something that never goes out of style.  The tricky part is picking something that you know will match the recipient’s style.  Observe what kind of pieces they already have in their home.  If this seems too risky, think about framing pictures or objects that have sentimental value.  Framing kid’s artwork is a great way to add a personal touch in a classy way.  If you are still having trouble deciding on which item feels right, you can always give a gift certificate for framing services, and they can choose on their own.

Throws and Pillows

Nothing says winter like curling up with a cozy blanket and some plush pillows.  Blankets and throws get worn over time and you can never have too many backups.  You can choose from patterns and bright colors, or fabrics that feel delightful on the skin.  This is also an affordable gift.  Some fabrics can be pricier, but be on the lookout for holiday sales.

Ornaments

Even though holiday ornaments are used for a relatively short amount of time, they are a universal personal touch for added holiday cheer.  Find unique second-hand ornaments by searching antique or thrift stores for hidden gems.  If you are really feeling crafty you can attempt to make your own – it’s actually pretty easy.  There are tons of great ideas and tutorials online.

Kitchen Wares

The kitchen almost always becomes a gathering place, especially around the holidays.  And no matter how stocked a person’s kitchen is, there is always room for more.  Mixing bowls, serving platters, personalized cutting boards, specialized utensils, tea cups – the list is endless.  You certainly don’t want to get them something they already have, and always take note if they are short on storage space, but there is a wide spectrum of ideas for this area.  Get creative and choose bright designs and colors.
