Out with the Old, In with the New
We want to first wish all of our wonderful customers a very Happy New Years!! As the clock struck midnight and the start of 2019 officially began, there were sure to be plenty of resolutions and yearly wish lists swirling around. The start of a new year brings the promise of a fresh start with new goals. Whether you want a refresh for aspects of your job, your family, or your home, this is the perfect time to make some changes that will bring you joy this year.
The problem with resolutions is the added pressure it can bring. We don’t think resolutions should be stressful. We like to think of it more as a treat yourself kind of attitude. Life should be about enjoying the small things and finding ways to bring more happiness into your environment. One way that we do this is by refreshing parts of our home. So, this week we bring you an Oak for Less idea for each area of your home. Sometimes just a small change can make a big difference.
We start in the place that should be the oasis for relaxation and rest. We often overlook upgrades to our bedroom because it is a private space, hidden from our guests. But we spend more time in our bedrooms than we think. Creating a comfortable space is critical to finding a balance in your life. Take the time to research quality furniture built for comfort and durability.
Next, we move to a much more social space of the home. The dining area is a place to unwind with the family after a long day, or to entertain friends on the weekend. Food seems to always be a factor that brings people together, and whether you enjoy entertaining or prefer a more intimate affair, the key element is a strong dining table that fits the space and your needs.
There is always a mix of sadness and relief when the holiday season comes to a close, but as soon as it winds down, I start planning for the next entertainment opportunity. But for those of you that are ready for some down time, maybe now is a good chance to upgrade your home entertainment. Get comfortable for the next couple of winter months with a new entertainment wall system.
Many times, a new year’s resolution can be a way to increase productivity. This can often be a challenge if you work from home. Designating a specific place and designing it for optimal functionality is essential. Consider what you will really need on a daily basis. We recommend simplifying as much as possible and avoiding any clutter. This can be achieved with a simple yet functional writing desk.
A new year means a new opportunity to cross some things off of your to-do list. If you have been dreaming of some home upgrades, now is the time to seize the moment. Inventory is always changing and post-holiday sales are in full swing. Happy 2019!
